Deuteronomy is one long speech from Moses, in three parts: a retrospective and passionate call to faithfulness (ch.1-11), a large law code repeating and expanding what was given at Sinai (ch.12-26), and a final section of blessing, curse, and Moses' death (ch.27-34). The book's own name - a Greek phrase meaning "a second law" - names exactly what the middle section is doing.
